(A review of Inkheart)Boy this story grabbed me and wouldn't let me put the book down. Mrs Funke really knows how to tell a story. She creates characters that you want to cheer and root for as they go from one adventure to another. I felt like I was a fly on the wall watching the action as I read the book. She has a rare talent to bring a reader into a story. This book is good for readers that love a great tale from ages 10 and up. The story has a basic good verses evil plot line with a few twists. It follows a girl and her father as they try to get away from a diabolical man that wants to get a book that her father has been protecting for years. The story has a fantasy twist in that all the characters are not from our world. This will make more sense if you read the book. I hope you do! Enjoy. Flash 0 comments, Reply to this entry

(A review of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2))Wow, this was a wonderful ending to a long journey. This was one of the best endings to a book series that I have had the pleasure to read. The suspense and action kept going right up to the very end. Some of our friends didn't make it to the end, but most did. I guess all I can say is that we will miss you Harry. 0 comments, Reply to this entry

(A review of The Ghost Brigades (Sci Fi Essential Books))This is a very good sequel to Old Man's War. This story follows John Perry's Jane and the ghost brigade. The ghost brigade are a group of hybrid soldiers that are manufactured to kick some serious butt. The story actually follows the clone of a rogue scientist that is trying to help alien forces defeat and destroy Earth's space colonies. The scientists hope that the clone will give them clues as to what the scientist is trying to do to defeat the colonies. The story gets interesting as the clone develops his own personality and own opinions. There are some great battle scenes in the story as well. This is a very good book. I would highly reccomend reading Old Man's War before you read this story. It will give you more background on the colonies and ghost brigade that Scalzi has created. 0 comments, Reply to this entry

(A review of Old Man's War)This is a wonderful story. Even if you don't like science fiction, this story will grab you and take you for a ride you won't soon forget. It has very innovative ideas and is very fresh. The story follows John Perry as he reaches his 75th birthday. He joins up with the colonial forces that are protecting Earth's colonies out in the universe. But for the life of him, John can't figure out why they would want old men and women to be fighting for the colonies. Well once he leaves Earth he finds out the answer to this question and his adventure begins. I really enjoyed the storytelling by Scalzi. He created a character and world that are very compelling. You want to find out what is going to happen around every turn and there are a lot of turns. You want to read something new and fresh, pick up this book and let the fun begin. 0 comments, Reply to this entry
